DALLRD director-general welcomed by Agri SA

Agri SA welcomes Mr Robert Mooketsa Ramasodi as newly appointed Director-general (DG) at the Department of Agriculture, Land Affairs and Rural development. His appointment was made public in the cabinet statement of 3 November 2021.

“Mr Ramasodi was the acting DG in the department and is familiar with the various challenges and opportunities experienced by farmers, farmworkers as well as the agro-value chain. He has a long track record in the department from the management and implementation of biosecurity risk plans and the management and implementation biosecurity and food safety regulatory framework at ports of entry,” says Christo van der Rheede, executive director of Agri SA.

The DG oversees a variety of key functions, which amongst others includes the land reform process, including land ownership and sustainable development, implementation of land reform policies and programmes, register deeds and other documents and the coordination of activities of the economic cluster.

Agri SA extends a warm welcome and its best wishes to Mr Ramasodi.
